Why do I have to re-activate my host name after a certain amount of time?

A common question we get from our customers is "why am I receiving this expired host email?" If you received an email to re-activate a host name it is because you are using our free Dynamic DNS service and have not made changes to the host via our website or dynamic update client in the last 60 days.

To re-activate a host or to clear the 60 day notice all you have to do is click the link in the email. You will not have to enter your email address or password.

With No-IP's free service you are required to return to our site and modify / touch your host names every 60 days or send an update via the update client. Once its modified you are free to continue using the free service for another 60 days.

If you do not wish to receive these emails anymore you can simply upgrade to No-IP Enhanced or No-IP Plus to remove this restriction. If you are no longer using the host name you added to your account you may let it expire or you can log into your account and delete it from the system.
